Who can apply for homecare support jobs?
An SVQ2 qualification is preferred but not required. What matters most is having great interpersonal and communication skills and being a good listener. A friendly, chatty personality is a bonus, as companionship plays a key role in providing meaningful care.

As a homecare support worker, your duties may include but are not limited to:
- Supporting customers with personal care
- Providing companionship
- Medication prompting
- Light housekeeping, such as cleaning, laundry, change bedding
- Preparing and cooking healthy meals
- Accompanying customers to appointments and social outings
- Supporting customers to pursue their hobbies, interests and social activities
The requirements for the role are:
- Register with SSSC within 3 months.
- Care experience preferred
- You will need to complete SVQ2 in Health & Social Care within 3 years of starting.
- Proof of your right to work in the UK
- A valid driving licence and your own car
- Warm, patient and compassionate with a clear desire to support others
- Enthusiastic and positive ‘can do’ attitude

Hourly rate: £12.60 plus benefits

- You will have time with each customer to spend providing high-quality care and social support.
- You will be paid travel time between each visit, and if you use your car, you will receive 45p per mile in addition.

- On-call support from 7 am – 9 pm.
